Route
STEP 1. To start this route we leave from Monachil in the direction of El Purche and, about 500 meters, at the height of the El Puntarrón bar, you can leave the car.

STEP 2. From there, it begins a path to the right that goes through an area of cottages with fruit trees. You can see two eras called Los Regenerales and you can take the way to Los Cahorros Altos or Los Bajos.
The advantage of going through Los Altos is the view of the riverbed from above. Along the way the mountains are combined with the river and its waterfalls.

STEP 3. Too, there are hanging bridges that must be traversed along the path. One of the bridges over the river measures 63 meters and it was built a century ago with ropes and forty years ago was given greater security.
There aren’t difficulties in the route. However, there are parts of the path that become a bit more complicated, such as passing through La Cueva de las Palomas (one of the most beautiful points of the way). Here there are some rings on the walls to hold people as the path begins to be narrower. And if the river is high, you have to pass seated.

STEP 4. The way is rewarded with a time of rest in some meadows listening to the birds and the water.

STEP 5. The path can be followed to the Electric Station of the Vega where we would finish the route and we would return by the same way. The good thing about going back along the same route is that you get another view of the landscape and capture details that maybe you haven’t noticed.
