Flora and Fauna
The place of Los Cahorros is a zone of medium mountains of limestone materials, younger than the siliceous of the high peaks, and this means formations more abrupt but very erodible. The 'V' valley of the Monachil river, due to its shortage of land, human action and altitude, gives a shrub vegetation with riverbank plants, such as willows, poplars and reeds. This determines the fauna, rich in insects, birds, amphibians and mammals such as wild boar and mountain goat.
